LSS Awarded ISO 14001:2004 Certification

LSS Waste Management Ltd are delighted to announce that it has taken a big step forward in its plans for continual improvement in Environmental Performance by being awarded with the coveted ISO 14001:2004 certificate by the UKAS accredited company SGS.

Our achievement of the ISO 14001:2004 certificate is a clear demonstration of the company’s commitment and willingness to incorporate these standards to improve our environmental impact within our day-to-day operations and immediate environment.

In order to achieve ISO 14001 status, we carried out an in-depth assessment of our activities and their environmental impact, and identified the following key issues as being particularly important to address such as:

  • increased recycling
  • landfill waste reduction
  • energy usage

Objectives and targets to improve the company’s performance in these areas were set by senior management, and revised environmental procedures and guidelines were quickly adopted by staff and integrated into day-to-day operations.

Having gained ISO 14001, we are aware that the hard work is just beginning as the external auditors look for continuous improvement.

This year, in addition to ISO 14001 certification, LSS have also achieved “Safecontractor” and “Building Confidence” (empowered by Achilles) certification to demonstrate our commitment to improvement to benefit our customers in meeting their legal requirements and compliance.
