LSS Waste Management was founded by Nigel Woolford in 1984.
In comparison to today’s large scale operation, it was a modest beginning; Nigel starting with just one vehicle and 10 skips, which he painted bright yellow so that they were easily identifiable as LSS skips.
Things quickly went from strength-to-strength, with the fledgling business earning a well-deserved reputation for excellent reliability and service; solid waste management services; and its growing range of big yellow skips available for hire.
Originally located in Rothwell, Leeds, LSS grew at such a rate that land was sourced and a purpose built site was constructed on Cross Green Industrial Park, Leeds, West Yorkshire, which we moved onto in 2005.
Today we have one of the biggest waste recycling centres in Europe and operate a fleet of 75 specialist waste management and skip hire vehicles, all of which are fitted with the latest tracker and camera systems (Halo).
Never one to rest on his laurels, Nigel has ensured that LSS has never stood still. Over the years we’ve developed many new recycling processes, championed many new innovations, and continually developed our facilities; all of which have enabled us to provide the best total waste management and skip hire solutions service, including wait and load skips.
We always have one eye firmly focused on the future and our vision is to be recognised as a strong, sustainable, innovative and forward thinking business that puts the customer at the forefront of everything it does.
One thing though has never changed. Our aim now is the same as it was for Nigel back in 1984; to meet and then exceed our customer’s needs.
