LSS SIGNS UP WITH LEEDS RHINOS FOR 15TH CONSECUTIVE SEASON
LSS Waste Management, the Leeds based total waste management provider, has confirmed a long-term sponsorship deal with the Leeds Rhinos, which means the new Super League season, which kicks off on Thursday (January 31st), will be its fifteenth consecutive year as a shirt sponsor.
Since first sponsoring the Rhinos in 2004, the Headingley club has won seven grand finals, two challenge cups and three world club challenges.
Leeds Rhinos commercial director, Rob Oates, said: “We’re a local club, with a strong local fan base, so having a great local firm like LSS Waste as one of our main sponsors is the perfect fit. And when you look at the success we’ve had while carrying their logo on our shirts, it seems like they could be our lucky local charm as well.”
Club legends, Kevin Sinfield MBE and Jamie Jones Buchanan, and 2019 marquee signing, Konrad Hurrell met outside the Emerald Headingley Stadium, with LSS Waste’s managing director, Nigel Woolford, to mark the commencement of the new season’s sponsorship deal.
“We’re proud to sponsor the Rhinos, and always have been,” said Nigel. “When I worked out the dates at the end of last season, I couldn’t believe that this would be our fifteenth season – it’s gone so quickly, and been so much fun.”
“This season’s a huge one for the team,” he added. “There’s the redeveloped stadium; some great new signings; and it’s Kevin Sinfield’s first full season as director of rugby. Everything really does look set for our fifteenth season being the best one ever.”
The Emerald Headingley stadium is currently undergoing a £45m redevelopment, and is due to be completed by May 2019. As a result, Leeds Rhinos will play their first four games of the season away from home, with their 2019 season kicking off on Saturday 2nd February, away to last season’s Challenge Cup and Grand Final runners up, Warrington Wolves.
